I spy everly b. in a magazine!

Woohoo! SO excited when CupcakeMag's summer issue came out this morning to see everly b. on two pages when flipping through it! This is a proud moment for this mama :) To top it off Kourtney Kardashian is on the cover and the gorgeous Jessica Alba and Rosie Pope are featured inside along with so many other incredible mamas, brands and info! If you haven't heard of CupcakeMag go check them out cupcakemag.com Oh and of course go check out pages 43 and 45!

Our man cave tee is featured in the "shop boys" section and I must say it looks quite good in there.

happy mail day :: freshly picked moccs

Last week we had a very happy mail day! Our first pair of freshly picked moccs had arrived and they were gorgeous! I thought I would do a little review for you other mamas who may be contemplating ordering a pair.

Just as you have heard and seen, these shoes really are fantastic. My two favorite things about them are function and fashion. Which is what I look for when I buy anything :) My daughter walks the best in these moccs. And she seriously just started walking on her own the day after they came! No heavy lifting on her feet, no heel slippage, easy for mama (and dada) to slip on and off, and there are no buckles or straps to cause blisters or discomfort to her cute tiny feet. Oh and before you order them make sure you print out their size chart to measure your kiddos feet as these seem to run bigger than your average shoe.

Now let's talk about fashion. We ordered the coral pair because I am a bit obsessed with this color. And even though coral isn't a traditional go with everything color, these shoes totally do. You seriously can't go wrong. You can wear these moccs with anything. I slipped them on with every outfit she wore last week and snapped some pics just so you can see what an awesome and versatile shoe they are.

Now let's talk about price. Coming from a thrifty mama, they are definitely more expensive than your traditional pair of baby shoes. But like a good pair of jeans (or workout pants) they are well worth it. Instead of buying 2 not so great pairs make the investment, spend a little more and get a pair of freshly picked moccs that your kid will wear day in and day out (while looking fabulous of course). You won't regret it! Oh and be prepared to get lots of compliments!

aim for a cure

Happy Monday! I am so excited to share with you our new "aim for a cure" (bow and arrrow design) raglan shirt, where a portion of every sale is donated to Cystic Fibrosis. Why is CF so important to me? Well, meet my nephew Donovan...

Handsome, funny, energetic and carries a huge heart to go with his giant personality. He is now 7 years old. At 12 weeks in utero the Dr.'s discovered that my sister was a carrier of the CF gene. The Dr. wasn't concerned yet that their baby would have CF, as both parents have to be carriers --and then that still only leaves a 25% chance for baby. Well a week later my brother in law got tested and found out that he too was a carrier of the CF gene. They decided to do an amnio so that if their child did have cystic fibrosis they could begin researching the heck out of it. The test turned out positive and the researching began.

At only one day old Donovan already began taking enzymes before every feeding. Shortly after my sister and brother in law started to manually pat Donovan's back and chest to clear any mucous from building up. At 14 months old Donovan was able to fit the smallest size vest which plugged into a machine that vibrated his body. This replaced his mom and dads patting. At 2 years old he added in the nebulizer, which essentially delivers meds in the form of a mist to make inhaling easier.

At 3 years of age Donovan went into the hospital for 9 days because he was not able to fight an infection on his own. He had his first PICC line surgery to receive antibiotics through a PICC line. After this hospital stay more meds were added to his nebulizer. He currently takes albuterol, pulmozyme, and hyper saline. Donovan takes 13 enzyme pills and does 2 twenty minute breathing treatments daily. Every time he gets a cough the treatments are increased to 4 times a day.

We are blessed at how well Donovan is doing and thank the lord and Dr's for all the medical advancements. I have been wanting to design a piece of clothing that could help give back. With my sister's help we created a shirt where funds and awareness could be raised for CF. If you want to support a great cause and love the new shirt design for your kiddo (s), then we would love for you to be a part of Team Donovan too!

What is CF?
Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems in children and adults in the united states and worldwide. A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life threatening lung infections and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food

In the 1950's, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended the life of children and adults with Cf. Many people with this disease can now expect to live in their 30s, 40s and beyond.

mompreneur of the week

This week I was featured on Kate and Linny as their "mompreneur of the week!" This a boutique site where two mamas offer products from other mompreneurs that are perfect for your life or home for a limited time deal. Each week they choose a mompreneur and allow others to get to know them a little more. Take a look at their site to see a few of our items on sale and to learn a little more about everly + b's mama... aka me :)!

Here's a peek at one of the questions I was asked...

WHAT'S YOUR GO-TO DINNER FOR THE FAMILY?:

My go to dinner is always pizza. And trust me, I can make pizza out of lots of things: tortilla pizzas, english muffin pizzas, bagel pizzas, pizza nachos… the list goes on. But our fav is buying the wheat pizza dough in the refrigerated section at Trader Joe’s. My son gets a kick out of pressing the dough and adding all the different toppings.
