six months :: sibling interaction
Wow today marks the six month mark for Everly! I am enjoying her so much (of course) and so is her big brother. Now that Everly is making noises, rolling around, grabbing for things and doing a bit more than "just acting like a baby" Braeden is having a good ole time with her. Watching the two of them interact just melts my heart and seriously gives me the warm fuzzies ;) Everly smiling at Braeden, Braeden sharing his toys with Everly, the two of them playing...the cuteness just doesn't end. I love getting Braeden involved too as a "helper." I can tell he feels proud when he feeds her a bottle, gets her a burp cloth when she spits up, or gives her a toy when she gets cranky. I am however amazed that my baby girl is already six months. Time to bring out the baby bullet and start making some baby food!

month :: three
Baby girl is 3 months now (as of the 7th) and I am feeling good! I am sure most of you moms had this feeling too around the three month mark. Your little one is sleeping so much better (which means you are too), and you seem to have a routine down. Not to mention you just feel like you know your baby a lot more and can finally predict their patterns.
This was a big month for Everly. She now only wakes once a night for a feeding and sleeps about nine hours straight! She goes down around 6:45pm, feeds around 3:30am and then a couple hours later wakes up for the day at 6:30ish. She is finally having happy awake time for more than a couple minutes and her social smiles are the cutest things if you are lucky enough to get one :) She is loving her crib too which makes this mama very happy! Love you sweet Everly and happy three months!

Patience is a Virtue
If I have learned anything in the first 6 weeks as a mother of two it is certainly the importance of patience. Being patient and calm (as much as possible) is what helps me through the day. Being patient with my two children, with my husband and with my body are a goal I have as we embark on a wonderful new year.
I need to be patient when both children are crying at the same time, when my toddler consistently is demanding for my attention while I am feeding the little one, when baby doesn't want to sleep in the middle of the night and I am exhausted after caring for two kids on a long 13 hour day (husband works and then coaches as a second job).
I need to be patient with my husband as he doesn't have boobs to feed the little one and soothe her like I can, I need to be patient with my husband when he doesn't read my mind or when he comes home after a long day and needs a little rest too.
I need to be patient with my changing and healing body. I love being pregnant, but once baby is out and you still have the pregnancy weight and post baby belly it is easy to feel discouraged-- however I remind myself that I did just birth a beautiful baby girl which is beyond worth any pain or weight gain. It took me nine months to put the weight on and that is why I need to be patient and allow myself nine months to take it all off.
I don't know about you, but for me, everything just seems better and easier with a little bit of patience :)

Month :: one
Today is the one month mark for sweet Everly. I have to say that time has certainly gone fast. Between the healing and around the clock feeding schedule, everything is a bit hazy. But one thing is for sure- we are absolutely in love with our beautiful baby girl. Thank you Everly Jae for adding a whole new dimension and lots of love & happiness to our family and life.
